AIDS candlelight vigil
26th June 2010
Aids Candlelight Vigil NYC is a memorial to all the people who died of HIV/AIDS, to show support for survivors in addition to support for those now afflicted with HIV/AIDS.
This was the 25th year that people have walked along St Christopher Street and held a service next to the Hudson River to remember friends and loved ones who have been affected by the AID pandemic.
I remember when the disease first was identified in the 80s as a young child. Its hard to believe that after nearly 30 years a real cure still seems a long way off.
